Diving Weather and Sea Conditions
Current Conditions at my home at
Kareela, Sydney
.
.
The following are some links to diving weather resources as well as sea conditions.
Current Sydney Weather Observations
- Especially good for seeing if winds are too strong - look at Little Bay and Kurnell for Botany Bay, Kurnell and Wattamolla for Port Hacking and North Head for Sydney Harbour
Current NSW Weather Observations
- For Sydney, good to check Illawarra and South Coast locations to see if a change is coming
Sydney MetEye Marine Forecast from BOM
- we used this a bit when sailing and seems good
Sydney Weather Radar -
Terrey Hills 64 km Radar
Seabreeze Weather for Sydney
- Computer modelling of winds and sea conditions - was very accurate but from early 2010 has been very erratic - 7 days in advance - I complained to them but they did not understand that their current forecast did not even match the real situation - I suggest doubling sea heights to make it more accurate
Willy Weather for Cronulla
- Computer modelling of winds and sea conditions - new, seems very accurate
Buoy Weather for Sydney
- US computer modelling - very accurate but only two days in advance - See small version below
Current Wave Heights - Sydney
Wave period is important for diving for a number of reasons.
Sydney Ports Wind and Sea Conditions
- good for Bare Island and Inscription Point in Botany Bay
